Sunrises

Musing about feeling good, settled and stable: 1. sunrises

The science. Watch the sun rise, regularly. It’s early morning light taken in through naked eyes (no contacts, glasses, etc.) that helps set or reset our circadian rhythm. Light from screens disrupts this rhythm. Living in your circadian rhythm puts you in the optimal cycle of sleep and awake (rest and energetic output). This is foundational to every aspect of a healthy life, one of well-being.

The metaphysics. Watching the sunrise captivates us, pulling us into now. Watching cuts a wide channel through our thoughts for the present moment to flow powerfully between our future worries and past anxieties. in this channel flows peace, calm, wonder, majesty, awe, perspective, beauty and more. These are salves needed help heal our minds, hearts and lives.
